Arsenal have created a four-striker shortlist for the summer transfer window amid concerns over Gabriel Jesus’ ongoing knee issues.
Jesus has made just 13 league starts this season due to fitness problems with the Brazil international having suffered with recurring knee complaints.
Mikel Arteta is keen to improve the options in his squad at centre-forward and Arsenal have began assessing candidates for the summer window.
Ivan Toney features highly on Arsenal’s list of potential options with the 27-year-old having expressed a desire to leave Brentford in the summer.
Toney, who has scored 36 goals in 73 Premier League appearances for the Bees, will enter the final 12 months of his deal in the summer and has spoken previously of his admiration for Arsenal.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are also keeping tabs on Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee, Napoli forward Victor Osimhen, and Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres. Osimhen has also been linked with Chelsea and has a release clause in his deal with the Italian champions in the region of £111m
The latter, meanwhile, has excelled since leaving Championship side Coventry for Sporting Lisbon last summer. Gyokeres has 30 goals and 11 assists in 33 appearances in all competitions for the Portuguese side, who placed a €100m (£86m) release clause in the contract he signed at the Estádio José Alvalade.
Arsenal are also keen to sign a winger to supplement Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, and an additional central midfielder. Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi is named as an option for the latter role.
