Bayern Munich eye Liverpool left-back as Davies replacement

Bayern Munich have made Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson a leading transfer target as the club look to replace Alphonso Davies.

Davies could depart the Bundesliga champions at the end of the season after failing to agree terms on a new contract at Bayern. Reports this week have claimed that the Canada international has reached an agreement with Real Madrid over a summer switch to Spain.

According to the Daily Mail, Robertson has been placed high on Bayern’s wish-list to replace Davies in the summer.

The Scotland captain has cemented a reputation as one of Europe’s leading left-backs during a decorated career with Liverpool, in which he has made 282 appearances since signing from Hull City.

Robertson has won eight trophies with the Reds, including the 2024 Carabao Cup after victory over Chelsea at the weekend. Bayern accept it will be difficult to prise Robertson away from Anfield, but will monitor his situation ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s exit and the arrival of a new head coach.

Robertson, who will turn 30 next month, holds the joint-record for assists by a Premier League defender and is contracted at Liverpool until 2026.
