Mohamed Salah not looking to leave Liverpool this summer

Mohamed Salah has shown ‘no indication’ that he wants to leave Liverpool and is expected to remain with the club next season.

Salah will enter the final 12 months of his contract with the Reds in the summer and was subject of interest from the Saudi Pro League in 2023, with Al-Ittihad having had an offer in the region of £150m turned down for the 31-year-old.

The Egypt international hit the headlines at the weekend after a touchline disagreement with Jurgen Klopp at West Ham. Dropped to the bench for the draw at the London Stadium, he was seen arguing with Klopp as he prepared to enter the pitch as a second-half substitute.

Klopp will leave Liverpool in the summer, though the Merseysiders do not expect Salah to depart. According to The Athletic, he has shown no indication that he wants to leave Liverpool and the club are preparing to address his contract situation ‘in due course’.

The expectation is that Salah will remain at Liverpool for at least one further season, with Arne Slot set to take over from Klopp as manager for 2024/25.

Salah is Liverpol’s leading scorer this season with 24 goals in all competitions. He has netted 17 times in the Premier League and laid on nine assists.
