Chelsea starlet makes transfer statement following Premier League promotion

Chelsea youngster Omari Hutchinson has said where he wants to play his football next season ahead of the summer transfer window opening up.

The 20-year-old shone while on loan with Ipswich Town this past season, scoring ten goals and providing five assists in 44 appearances.

The winger was a key figure in the Tractor Boys’ Championship campaign, scoring the goal that clinched promotion to the Premier League in Saturday’s win over Huddersfield Town.

Hutchinson will return to Chelsea now that his loan spell has concluded, but the question remains whether he will return to the Suffolk outfit next season.

“I hope so,” Hutchinson old Sky Sports amid the on-field celebrations.

“We’ll see what the manager and my agent say, but right now I’m just going to celebrate.”

With just one year left on his current contract at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea will have to decide whether to offer him a new deal or sell him to recoup some money before he can leave on a free transfer.

“This is the best loan I could have ever imagined,” Hutchinson continued. “The boys have helped me so much and I’ve progressed so well from the start of the season until now.”

Hutchinson doubled Ipswich’s lead just two minutes after the interval on Saturday following Wes Burns’ opener, sending the Suffolk outfit back to the Premier League for the first time since 2002.
