Chelsea and Barcelona are understood to working on player-plus-cash proposals to sign wantaway Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe has informed PSG that he has no intention of extending his current contract which expires next summer, with the Ligue 1 side keen to cash-in on the France captain in the current transfer window.
PSG believe that Mbappe has agreed terms to sign for long-term admirers Real Madrid next summer, but are actively looking to sell the 24-year-old this summer to avoid losing the club’s all-time record goalscorer on a free transfer in 2024.
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea and Barcelona are attempting to put together packages to sign Mbappe.
The two clubs are reportedly working on player-plus-cash deals in an attempt to sign Mbappe, who refused to meet with Al-Hilal officials last week to discuss a potential world-record transfer to Saudi Arabia.
Mauricio Pochettino worked with Mbappe at PSG and a move to west London would unite the forward with international team-mate Christopher Nkunku in a new-look frontline.
Hakim Ziyech has been mooted as a potential makeweight after a loan move to PSG collapsed in January, while Romelu Lukaku could also be used in part-exchange after returning to Chelsea from a loan spell at Inter Milan.
