Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has discussed the club’s interest in signing Joshua Zirkzee and Albert Gudmundsson this summer.
Inter are celebrating a memorable campaign after being crowned Serie A champions and the Nerazzurri are working hard behind the scenes to strengthen for next season.
The newly-crowned Scudetto winners have already reportedly agreed terms to sign Mehdi Taremi from FC Porto and Piotr Zielinski from Napoli on free transfers, continuing the club’s recent success in recruiting high-profile free agents.
Inter continue to be linked with new arrivals, however, and have interest in Premier League transfer targets Joshua Zirkzee and Albert Gudmundsson.
Zirkzee has scored 11 league goals for Bologna this season, firing the club’s challenge for Champions League qualification for the first time. The Dutchman has admirers in Manchester United and Arsenal, who have extensively scouted the 22-year-old this season.
Gudmundsson, who has been linked with Spurs, Newcastle and West Ham, is also on the radar of English teams after impressing upon Genoa’s promotion back into Serie A. The 26-year-old has 13 league goals and leads Serie A for chances created in 2023/24.
Ausilio admitted that Inter admire both players, though suggested a move for both was unlikely.
“Joshua Zirkzee and Albert Gudmundsson are two excellent quality players but it doesn’t mean that we will buy them,” he said.
“We will have four strikers next season, not five.”
