Broja ‘number one’ target for Premier League clubs

Chelsea’s Armando Broja is the ‘number one’ striker target for clubs in the Premier League and Europe ahead of the summer transfer window.

Broja is expected to leave Chelsea on a permanent basis when he returns from a loan spell at Fulham, having joined the club’s West London neighbours in search of more regular minutes in January.

The 22-year-old’s move has not worked out as hoped with the form of Rodrigo Muniz having restricted Broja to just 60 minutes of Premier League action across seven substitute appearances at Fulham.

However, he remains admired at a number of Premier League clubs and Fabrizio Romano is reporting that several sides will target Broja as a first-choice option in the summer window.

Aston Villa, West Ham and Wolves were all linked with the Albania international in January, while there’s also significant interest in Broja from abroad.

Broja impressed during loan spells at Vitesse Arnhem and Southampton earlier in his career but has seen his progress stall amid injuries and competition for places at Chelsea.

Chelsea are expected to be in the market for a centre-forward at the end of the campaign and the sale of Broja, whose departure would count as complete profit due to his homegrown status, could help free up additional funds.
