Chelsea have joined the growing list of clubs in the race to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund next summer.
Europe’s top clubs are tracking Bellingham ahead of a transfer next summer with the teenager regarded as one of world football’s brightest young talents.
Dortmund refused to sell Bellingham last summer amid interest from Liverpool, but face a fight to keep hold of the England international in 2023 with Chelsea the latest team to join the race.
The west Londoners are pursuing a policy of signing young talent with a view to the future, having brought in the likes of Gabriel Slonina, Wesley Fofana and Carney Chukwuemeka during the summer window. Bellingham – who will have two years remaining on his contract at Dortmund next summer – is viewed as the ideal addition to an ageing midfield at Stamford Bridge.
The Times are reporting that Chelsea could turn their attention to West Ham’s Declan Rice should a move for Bellingham fail. Liverpool and Manchester United are expected to renew their interest in the latter next summer, while Real Madrid have also placed Bellingham high on their transfer wish-list.
Bellingham has made more than a century of appearances for Dortmund since joining from Birmingham City. He became England’s third-youngest debutant in 2020 and has since won 17 senior caps for the Three Lions.
