Europa League last-16 draw: West Ham face Sevilla, Rangers meet Red Star

The draw for the last 16 of the Europa League has been made with West Ham and Rangers learning their opposition for the next stage.

West Ham have been handed a difficult challenge after being paired with record six-time winners Sevilla, with the Spanish side currently second in La Liga and pursing a first league title since 1946.

Sevilla beat Dinamo Zagreb – runners-up to West Ham in the group stage – in the previous round after dropping out of the Champions League and boast a formidable record in this competition, including winning three successive Europa League titles between 2014 and 2016 and a record-extending sixth after beating Manchester United in 2020.

Rangers’ reward for an impressive elimination of Borussia Dortmund is a clash with Red Star Belgrade, whilst Barcelona will take on Galatasaray.

The Spanish giants are in the Europa League for the first time since the 2003/04 campaign and thrashed beat Napoli over two legs to reach this stage. Elsewhere Porto face Lyon and Atalanta take on Bayer Leverkusen.
