Inter Milan to meet with Lukaku representatives today ahead of potential return

Inter Milan are to meet with the representatives of Romelu Lukaku today ahead of a potential return of the Chelsea forward.

Lukaku has been linked with a potential return to Inter Milan after a disappointing debut season with Chelsea, with the 29-year-old having scored just eight league goals since his £97.5m club-record arrival from the San Siro last summer.

Inter are interested in re-signing the Belgium international and Sky Sports Italia are reporting that the Italians will meet with Lukaku’s lawyers to discuss the costs of bringing the player back to Serie A.

Despite his disappointing campaign, Chelsea have ‘no intention’ of allowing Lukaku to leave despite his desire for a return to Italy and initial talks are set to discuss the viability of a return to Inter this summer.

Lukaku starred across his two seasons with the Nerazzurri, scoring 64 goals in 95 appearances across all competitions.

He was named as Serie A’s Most Valuable Player after firing Antonio Conte’s side to the Serie A title in 2020/21, before signing for Chelsea in a big-money deal as the club encountered financial difficulties.
