Wolves are ‘realistic’ over the future of midfielder Ruben Neves amid interest from Premier League rivals.
Neves is believed to be a transfer target for Manchester United and Arsenal during the summer transfer window, as both clubs look to bolster their midfield options.
Barcelona have also been credited as admirers of Neves, who is understood to be keen to leave Wolves in order to play European football.
The Portugal international – whose current contract expires in 2024 – signed for Wolves from Porto in 2017 and has been a key figure in the club’s rise in recent seasons, helping the club to a top 10 finish in the Premier League last season.
Wolves’ technical director, Scott Sellars, has discussed Neves’ future and admits the board are ‘realistic’ over the long-term future of the 25-year-old.
“The ideal situation is we want him to stay,” Sellars told the club’s media, as per the BBC.
“But I’m also realistic that when you’ve got an outstanding player then the top clubs are going to come and try to see what the situation is.”
Neves has made 212 appearances for Wolves, scoring 24 goals, and has earned 26 caps for Portugal at international level.
