Salah agent rubbishes ‘nonsense’ suggestions Egyptian could leave Liverpool

The agent of Mohamed Salah has rubbished suggestions that the Egyptian could be set to leave Liverpool in the summer.

The forward has been an indispensable and immovable figure in Liverpool’s front line ever since arriving from Roma in 2017, netting 175 goals and laying on 67 assists in his 289 appearances for the club.

During his time at Anfield, the 30-year-old has won almost everything there is to win, lifting the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup, as well as three Premier League golden boot awards.

Liverpool are, however, enduring a hugely disappointing campaign, with last season’s runners-up currently nine points off the top four – albeit with two games in hand – out of both domestic cup competitions, and facing elimination from the Champions League.

There have been suggestions that Salah could look to leave the club if they miss out on a top four finish, though his agent, Ramy Abbas has moved to dismiss the suggestions as ‘nonesense’.

“Nonsense,” Abbas wrote on Twitter. “This was never discussed or thought about. Not qualifying to the Champions League hasn’t even crossed our minds.”

Salah is under contract at Anfield until 2025.
