Harry Kane set to reject European offers and join Man United next summer

Harry Kane will turn down a move to Europe and is prepared to sign for Manchester United on a free transfer next summer.

Kane’s future is set to dominate the headlines this summer with the forward entering the final 12 months of his contract at Tottenham.

The 29-year-old could push for an exit after Spurs missed out on European football for next season, with the forward having failed to win silverware in his career to date.

Manchester United want to sign Kane as Erik ten Hag looks to add a centre-forward to his squad, but the Red Devils face a fight to convince Spurs to sell with chairman Daniel Levy reluctant to lose the England captain to a direct rival.

Spurs’ hopes of selling Kane – who is valued at around £100m – to a European side appear slim, with The Sun reporting that the forward will turn down proposals from outside the Premier League.

Kane trails only Alan Shearer for goals in the Premier League and the prospect of becoming the division’s record goalscorer is understood to be of motivation for the three-time Golden Boot winner.

Manchester United appear Kane’s only viable option in the Premier League with the forward not prepared to risk his reputation at Spurs with a move to Chelsea or Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Manchester City and Liverpool are not in the market for a forward and Newcastle are not in a position to meet Kane’s asking price despite their Saudi ownership and Champions League qualification.

Kane is understood to want the move to Old Trafford and is prepared to join the Red Devils on a free transfer next summer if Spurs refuse to sell in the upcoming transfer window.
