Manchester United to make Onana bid ‘tonight’

Manchester United are expected to submit a first official offer for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana on Friday evening.

Onana is the club’s leading transfer target as Erik ten Hag looks to sign a new goalkeeper and the two sides have been in negotiations over a potential deal.

Inter Milan have set an asking price of €50m plus add-ons for the Cameroon international, who shone during his debut season with the club as the Italians reached the Champions League final.

Onana led the competition for saves and clean sheets and has been made a priority signing for Ten Hag, who previously worked with the goalkeeper at Ajax,

Sky Sports Italy are reporting that negotiations between the Red Devils and Inter Milan are ‘progressing quickly’ and a first offer from the Premier League side could be submitted on Friday.

Inter are hopeful that the proposal will be in line with their demands in order for a swift deal to be completed.

United’s interest in Onana comes with David de Gea set to depart after 12 seasons at Old Trafford. The Spaniard had been offered a contract extension at the club on reduced terms, but now looks set to depart as a free agent after a breakdown in negotiations.
