Bristol City reject Bournemouth bid for Alex Scott

Bristol City have turned down a £15m bid from Bournemouth for in-demand midfielder Alex Scott.

Scott is on the radar of numerous Premier League clubs after an excellent season at Bristol City, with the teenager named as the EFL Championship Young Player of the Season and in the divisional Team of the Year in 2022/23.

West Ham, Wolves and Tottenham have all been strongly linked with a move for the 19-year-old, while Liverpool, Newcastle and Brighton are also said to have monitored the midfielder’s progress at Ashton Gate.

Bournemouth have now sought to steal a march on top-flight rivals with an opening offer, but Fabrizio Romano is reporting that the £15m bid has been rejected.

Speaking in March, Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson said it would take a ‘big bid’ to convince the club to sell the England u-20 international.

“It wouldn’t surprise me that clubs are interested in him but there have been no bids. Whoever makes a proper bid at some point, will have to be a really big bid to get him,” Pearson told the Bristol Post.

“He has to be more than £25m, he shouldn’t go for less than that.”
