Inter submit new €30m bid for Romelu Lukaku

Inter Milan have submitted a new bid of €30m for Romelu Lukaku with talks ongoing with Chelsea over a potential deal.

Lukaku spent last season on loan at Inter Milan and the club are keen to re-sign the forward on a permanent basis, but negotiations have so far have failed to reach an agreement with Chelsea.

Inter’s latest bid is understood to be worth around €30m (£25.6m), below Chelsea’s reported asking price of €46m (£40m).

Fabrizio Romano is reporting that talks are ongoing between the clubs in a bid to finalise a deal, with Inter keen to conclude a transfer quickly amid interest from other clubs.

Juventus have expressed interest in signing the Belgium international, while Lukaku has turned down approaches from The Saudi Pro League.

The 30-year-old scored 14 goals in all competitions for Inter last season and has not returned to Chelsea for pre-season training this week.

A mutual decision was made for Lukaku to not rejoin the Chelsea squad as he discusses and exit and the forward will not travel with the team when Mauricio Pochettino’s side depart for their pre-season tour of the USA next week.
