PSG aim to add new goalkeeper with De Gea and Kepa on their list

PSG want to sign a new goalkeeper to provide competition for Gianluigi Donnarumma and are considering moves for David de Gea and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Donnarumma’s form dipped towards the end of his first full campaign as PSG’s number one last season and the club are keen to improve their goalkeeping options with another addition.

Keylor Navas has returned to the Ligue 1 champions after a loan spell at Nottingham Forest, but his future remains unclear and L’Equipe are reporting that PSG are considering moves to sign Spanish shot-stoppers De Gea and Arrizabalaga.

De Gea is a free agent after leaving Manchester United with discussions over a contract extension having broken down. The 32-year-old won the Premier League’s Golden Glove last season, but reservations over his distribution have contributed to his exit from Old Trafford.

De Gea would provide an experienced option, but the goalkeeper was phased out of the international set-up during new PSG head coach Luis Enrique’s time in charge of Spain.

Kepa Arrizabalaga is also considered an option with Chelsea looking to replace the 28-year-old. Arrizabalaga signed for the west Londoners in a world-record £71.6m deal in 2018, but has failed to live up to expectations at Stamford Bridge.

He returned to favour last season, but is expected to depart should Chelsea sign a replacement this summer.
