Thomas Frank has reiterated that Brentford value in-demand goalkeeper David Raya at £40m, amid interest from several leading clubs.
Raya has been linked with an exit after entering the final season of his contract at Brentford, but the Bees have insisted that the Spanish shot-stopper will not depart for a fee of less than £40m.
Arsenal and Bayern Munich are the latest clubs to have expressed an interest in signing the 27-year-old, with the latter having seen a loan proposal rejected, while Chelsea are understood to be admirers.
Tottenham and Manchester United also considered moves for Raya before turning their attention to deals for Guglielmo Vicario and Andre Onana respectively.
Raya led the Premier League for saves last season and is recognised as one of the best distributors in the division, a reputation which Frank believes merits Brentford’s high valuation.
“He’s worth £40m — he was one of the four best keepers in the Premier League last season,” Frank said, as per Fabrizio Romano.
“What is the fair price for a player with one year left? Declan Rice went to Arsenal for £105m? And Harry Kane, they’re talking about £150m?”
Brentford have prepared for the possible departure of Raya after completing a deal to sign Netherlands international Mark Flekken from Freiburg in May.
