Andoni Iraola praises Tyler Adams ahead of impending Bournemouth move

Andoni Iraola has praised Tyler Adams as a ‘really good player’ with the Leeds midfielder understood to be undergoing a medical at Bournemouth.

Bournemouth look set to win the race to sign the USA international, who had been close to completing a transfer to Chelsea before the west Londoners pulled out of a deal.

Adams had completed part of his medical tests at Chelsea, but the Blues instead turned their attention to deals for Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

Brighton and Aston Villa are among the clubs to have also been linked with the 24-year-old, who Iraola believes can make an impact in the Cherries midfield – should a deal be finalised.

“I think it’s a player that right now is not our player,” the Bournemouth boss said at a pre-match press conference ahead of this weekend’s clash with Liverpool.

“So we have to wait, I think that you know that the club is working towards signing someone there in the midfield, but we have to wait until everything is complete.

“He’s a really good player.

“He has performed in the Champions League, national team experience.

“But I don’t want to go too far because right now it’s not our player.”
