Arsenal forward Folarin Balogun on West Ham striker shortlist

Folarin Balogun is among the names West Ham are considering as the club look to sign a centre-forward before the deadline

Balogun is expected to leave Arsenal in search of a regular role and has been subject of rejected approaches from Inter Milan and AS Monaco, while Fulham are also said to be monitoring his situation amid Aleksandar Mitrovic’s uncertain future at Craven Cottage.

The Guardian are reporting that West Ham could enter the race with the USA international on their shortlist of options.

Balogun scored 21 goals in Ligue 1 last season during a successful loan spell at Reims, but is free to leave Arsenal given the presence of Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah.

Arsenal value the forward at around £50m, but that price-tag is expected to drop as the transfer window reaches its deadline on September 1.

West Ham had a £40m offer rejected for Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke last month and are also interested in Feyenoord’s Santiago Giménez.

The latter scored 23 goals in all competitions for the Dutch side last season as Feyenoord won the Eredivisie, after arriving from Cruz Azul in Mexico.
