Tottenham make contact over Ansu Fati loan deal

Tottenham have made contact with Barcelona over signing Ansu Fati on loan from the Spanish side.

Fati started just 12 league games for Barcelona last season and has began each of the opening three games of the new campaign on the bench, with the winger reportedly offered to a number of clubs including Chelsea and Tottenham.

Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Spurs have now made an approach to sign Fati on a season-long loan deal, as Ange Postecoglou looks to add another option to his forward line.

The north Londoners have held discussions with Barcelona over the conditions of a potential deal and the Catalans will demand that Fati’s salary is covered in full before accepting a loan arrangement.

Fati has fallen down the pecking order at Barcelona after his initial exciting emergence through the club’s ranks and the introduction of Lamine Yamal to the side has further increased competition for a place, with the 16-year-old having provided two assists in three La Liga appearances this season.

Barcelona are also interested in a deal to sign Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid before the deadline and are hoping to move Fati on to free room in their squad.
