Gareth Southgate names England squad – Colwill and Nketiah earn senior call-ups

Gareth Southgate has named his England squad for September’s international fixtures with Ukraine and Scotland.

England travel to Ukraine in qualification for the 2024 European Championship on September 9, before facing Scotland in a friendly fixture three days later at Hampden Park.

 

Southgate has included Chelsea centre-back Levi Colwill and Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah for the first time, with the latter the record goalscorer for England’s u-21 side with 16 goals in 17 appearances for the Young Lions.

Harry Maguire has been included despite struggling for regular minutes at Manchester United, while Jordan Henderson is also selected following his move from Liverpool to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq.
