Chelsea to reject Armando Broja bids in January

Chelsea are set to reject approaches for Armando Broja in January and hand the forward a more prominent role in the side.

Broja has struggled to cement a regular place in the Chelsea team amid fitness and favour issues and has featured for just 144 minutes in the Premier League this season.

Fulham have been linked with a move to sign the 22-year-old, as the Cottagers look to find a replacement for Aleksandar Mitrovic, following the forward’s sale to Al-Hilal in the summer.

The Cottagers have scored just 13 goals in 13 games this season and the Evening Standard are reporting that Marco Silva has earmarked Broja as a potential solution. West Ham have previously made an approach to sign Broja.

The Albania international scored nine goals during an impressive loan spell at Southampton in 2021/22, but has since suffered several injury setbacks in his bid to establish himself at Stamford Bridge.

However, Chelsea are set to rebuff bids for Broja in January and hand the academy graduate an increase in minutes following his return to fitness.

Chelsea have been linked with signing a centre-forward in the new year, but the arrival of a number nine may wait until the summer. Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is understood to be on the Blues’ wish-list, while Chelsea have also weighed up an offer for Brentford forward Ivan Toney.

Fulham are also contemplating offers for Wolfsburg’s Jonas Wind and Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy, with the west Londoners expected to invest in January.
