Conor Bradley said he feels like he is ‘in a dream’ after scoring his first Liverpool goal in the club’s 4-1 win over Chelsea.
The right-back continued his impressive emergence with a standout performance against Chelsea, recording two assists and scoring his first Reds goal with a crisp finish into the far corner.
Bradley has now provided five assists and scored once in nine first-team appearances this season, taking his chance after an injury to Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The 20-year-old hopes he can continue earning regular minutes in Jurgen Klopp’s side and said the announcement of the German’s impending exit is a source of motivation for the squad to succeed this season.
“It’s a very proud moment, something I dreamed of for a long time. I feel like I’m in a dream. It’s unbelievable,” Bradley said to TNT Sports.
“I just couldn’t believe my goal went in. I didn’t know what to do. I went over to the corner and did a knee slide. It was brilliant, so it was.
“It was unfortunate the way Trent got injured. I just had to try to take my chance. I feel I’ve done pretty well.
“[Klopp leaving was a] big shock to us all. It’s giving us extra motivation.”
On Bradley’s performance, teammate Dominik Szoboszlai added to BBC Match of the Day: “He just put the ball on my head so I didn’t really have to do much. We are really happy to have him because he showed many times that he is ready to play. Today he got a goal and two assists. He showed what he can do.
“We are confident, probably it helps that we are getting the result we wanted but we work for it every time and we are ready for Arsenal.”
