Graham Potter is keen to end his torrid recent record against Crystal Palace as he prepares for his first Premier League game in charge of Chelsea.
Potter will take charge of Chelsea in a Premier League fixture for the first time this weekend as the west Londoners make the short trip across the capital to face Crystal Palace.
The 47-year-old was appointed as head coach in early September, but has had to wait for his first league game due to postponements and the international break.
Potter admits he is relishing the chance to take on Palace in what he is anticipating will be an atmospheric London derby, with the ex-Brighton boss sure to receive a lukewarm welcome from the home crowd.
“I’m sure it’ll be a nice friendly one, definitely! I like the atmosphere there,” Potter told his pre-match press conference.
”A proper football stadium, supporters get behind the team, make it difficult for the away team. The boys are ready and itching to play.”
Potter has failed to win in his previous seven encounters with Palace as a manager, but will be hoping to end that run with Chelsea this weekend. Chelsea have beaten the Eagles in each of the last ten meetings between the teams across all competitions.
“It goes to show how tough Premier League is. Margins are small. That’s history, looking forward to maybe changing that on Saturday.”
